It’s been a while since we posted anything, as you can imagine things have been hectic for us adjusting to life as parents. Here’s a photo of Jack at the six week mark (that was this Monday). I will continue to post photos of him on this same blanket to give some perspective as he grows.
At first, this was ok. Then, Jack said, “I’m not having fun, Dad!“
Here’s a cool photo Mike Wolff took of Jack chilling out in the papasan chair:
Here are a few photo highlights from the first two weeks with Jack.
Here is a link to a photo gallery of some images that George Ginsberg (Sarah Bailey’s dad) took yesterday while they were visiting.
Baby Jack is finally here! Lara was a champ during her 20 or so hour labor ending on Martin Luther King Day at 5:50 pm. Jack Dylan Taggart was born weighing 6 pounds 3 ounces, and measuring 19 inches long. Despite a few plaintive cries to be taken to the hospital, her mother Kathleen, our awesome midwife Tanja (http://www.newgrowthmidwifery.com/tanja.php) and I were able to coax her into “just 30 more minutes” and “just one more contraction” and then with only 45 minutes of pushing Jack was born.
Sunday feels more like 3 years ago than 3 days – but I can hardly imagine a time without my new baby son. The last few days have been a truly amazing experience for all of us. Lara’s mom and family in Santa Fe have been a huge help. Unfortunately my folks have not been able to make it up here because Jack brought some serious snow storms with him. But hopefully the Taggart’s will get to meet him soon. And a huge thank you to all our great friends who have been sending us messages and calls – whether or not we’ve been able to talk!
Anyway I’ll try to post some more stuff soon as time allows. Did I mention baby’s are exhausting? Love, Damian
Well baby Jack has finally made it to the home stretch of the third trimester: he’s now full term. I’m not sure how the baby is feeling but I’m certain that Lara is ready to meet him! So now we wait.
